Forest Lake Club map

This topographical map is helpful for getting around Forest Lake and especially for its description of 30-plus miles of hiking trails.

a note about the weather

On June first at Forest Lake the average high temperature is 73° F and the average low temperature is 49° F.  The sun rises at 5:29a and sets at 8:28p.  June is typically the wettest month at Forest Lake—it's equally likely to be rainy or sunny on June first—so bring appropriate clothing.

FLC activities

While you're welcome to participate in most of these activities throughout the weekend, Friday morning and afternoon are ideal times to take advantage of some of Forest Lake's best offerings.  When you RSVP please indicate if you're interested in any of the following:
  • fishing – The Forest Lake property includes access to three lakes and a section of Rattlesnake Creek.  Bring your own gear.  Pennsylvania fishing licenses are available for purchase in the FLC Clubhouse.  Boat rental may be required.
  • hiking – There are 30-plus miles of trails on the FLC property.  You are welcome to hike on your own using the map posted above.  Sometime on Friday, Mart Wilson, resident expert and Bobbie Miner's cousin-in-law, will lead a group hike.
  • tennis – The Club has two clay courts, one all-weather court and a platform tennis court.  Bring your own racquet.  Balls are available for purchase at the Clubhouse.  Paddle racquets for platform tennis may be borrowed from the Club.
  • golf – FLC’s nine holes are the second oldest continuously operating golf course in Pennsylvania.  Bring your own clubs.  Greens fees are $25 per day.  FLC also has a corporate membership with the adjacent Woodloch Pines where greens fees on the award-winning 18-hole course are $65-75.
  • skeet and trap shooting – David Work, FLC member and Bobbie Miner's cousin-in-law, will open the skeet and trap range for use sometime on Friday.  Fees are $3 per round.
  • FLC walking tour – Dave Wilson, resident expert and Bobbie Miner's cousin, will lead a walking tour of FLC to share the beauty and history of this special place.  Friday time tbd.
  • Forest Lake kayak ecotour – Ken Ersbak, the General Manager of The Forest Lake Club, will lead a flotilla of kayaks and canoes on a tour of the ecology and natural history of the Forest Lake ecosystem (pending boat availability).
